JOB DESCRIPTION
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Area of expertise : Logistics Assistant (OSL) GS5
2. Purpose of consultancy
As part of activities relating to preparation and response to health emergencies, the WHO Office in the Democratic Republic of Congo is recruiting a Logistics Assistant for the Goma sub-office.
3. Background
The incumbent will be a member of the logistics team and contribute to the management of daily logistics operations at the provincial level
4. Deliverables
Under the general supervision of the head of the WHO sub-office and technical supervision of the WHO Logistics manager of the office, the logistician assistant will have the tasks of:
1. Ensuring the reception and distribution of health kits, laboratory inputs or all other cargoes intended for the populations of the province.
2. Monitor the distribution of inputs from different areas
3. Ensure inventory management with regular inventories and sharing of input consumption reports.
4. Support the deployment of different teams on field missions in terms of logistics.
5. Support the Administrative Assistant in place in these different activities.
6. Ensure the management of the sub-office automobile haulage and the maintenance of vehicles with the support of the WHO fleet manager.
7. Ensure regular monitoring of the maintenance of installations and equipment
8. Prepare a report for all activities and share it at the end of each week.
9. Complete all other responsibilities and support services or tasks assigned by the supervisor.
5. Qualifications, experience, skills and languages
Educational Qualifications :
Essential: Completion of secondary studies, preferable in Administration, Economics and/or Management.
Desirable: Training in general or technical administrative practices with emphasis on logistics, supply chain or health logistics
Mastery of logistics tools would be an asset.
Experience :
Essential: At least 5 years of experience in logistics positions, and good knowledge of its rules, regulations, procedures and practices related to logistics work
Desirable : Significant work experience in a similar field within the United Nations system or international NGOs in charge of emergencies and humanitarian actions

7. Remuneration and budget
a. Remuneration:
– Grade: GS5 of the United Nations system scale
– Contract type: Special Services Agreement
